TCIL has undertaken state of art Synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH)
Telecommunications project for Mauritius Telecom with optical
fibre cables and SDH equipment installed in a failsafe ring
configuration.
The company has provided more than 150,000 subscriber
connections for Mauritius Telecom. It has also constructed
around 800 Kms of Telecom ducts, pulled more than 2500 Km of
Telecom cables and constructed around 5500 man holes and 20000
DPs. These works constitute a major share of Telecom
infrastructure in Mauritius.
The company has also stood by Mauritius Telecom during four
cyclones since 1994 – the Hollanda (1994), Davina (1999), Dina
(2002) and Gerry (2003), helping Mauritius Telecom to restore
its Telecom services swiftly. TCIL’s action as a responsible
corporate won high praise from the Mauritius Government.
In addition to the SDH fibre ring project TCIL has also provided
consultancy services to Mauritius Telecom for the implementation
of network planning software from ITU, Geneva, implemented LANs
for Government of Mauritius and also implemented cabling
infrastructure for Ebne cyber city for business parks of
Mauritius limited. |
